Expansion of select services and revamped guest area to relaunch at the birthplace of Hotel GrandBach brand
Hotel GrandBach Kyoto Select will reopen on 1st September 2024 at Shijo, Kyoto, hometown of the hotel brand. The opening arrives after completed renovation of public areas, including first two floors and partially the third. The hotel will relaunch as a lifestyle destination based on the concept of wellbeing and mindfulness defined as “Unwind in Kyoto with tranquil music and wellness inducing breakfast.”
Hotel GrandBach Kyoto Select initially opened in Shijo, Kyoto in 2014 as the inaugural branch of the “Hotel GrandBach” brand, operated by a subsidiary wholly owned by the Green House Co. Over the past decade, it has emerged as one of Kyoto’s leading hotels, welcoming guests from Japan and overseas as a serene “hideaway” within the prime, bustling shopping area of Shijo-Kawaramachi in Kyoto.
Mr. Jun Ochiai, President of Green Hospitality Management Co. Ltd further explained the hotel’s transformative features: “Hotel GrandBach Kyoto Select is the first hotel in Japan to be opened under the concept of “offer relaxing and luxurious experiences through our one- of-a-kind cuisine and signature music”. This includes a wellness breakfast based on the theme of “Selective Eating”, the hotel’s original wellness water, GB Tonkatsu Burger” all combined with a unique morning activity. Meanwhile, the automatic piano at the bar and lounge “Magdalena” plays the role of a “modern jukebox”. We are confident that the hotel will strengthen our presence in the Kyoto market by evolving into a new lifestyle hotel with a lounge life that enriches the guests’ experiences.”
Hotel GrandBach Kyoto Select also offers a scenic viewpoint in the lounge on the second floor. This unique vantage point also allows guests to observe the Yamahoko-junko procession, the main event of the Gion Festival, Kyoto’s largest and most popular sightseeing event. Hotel GrandBach Kyoto Select caters to families, female travellers, solo travellers, and business travellers alike.
