Unbeleafable, the award-winning salad range from the UK’s pioneering vertical farm GrowUp, has launched in Sainsbury’s stores across the UK.

Sainsbury’s is now stocking two of the ready-to-eat, UK-grown bagged salads from the Unbeleafable range: the Mild Mixed Baby Leaves and Rocket and Baby Leaves.

Unbeleafable leaves are grown, and packed, in a controlled environment at GrowUp’s vertical farm in Kent. The farm uses state-of-the-art technology to create the ideal environment for the leaves to thrive, ensuring they receive the optimal balance of water, light and nutrients.

Will Howard, UK MD and chief commercial officer at GrowUp said: “We are thrilled to secure a listing for our award-winning Unbeleafable salad range in selected Sainsbury’s stores across the country. Growing food that reduces the environmental impact of getting healthy food out to consumers is what we are all about at GrowUp.

“We are excited that our UK-grown Unbeleafable range is now in Sainsbury’s stores, helping to get this new product, which is low on impact and big on flavour, onto the nation’s plates.”

The Unbeleafable collection was the first range of salads to be launched by a vertical farm in the UK. The farm is powered by 100% renewable energy using electricity from the bioenergy plant next door, The farm is currently expanding and, when it reaches its full potential, it aims to grow everything using 94% less water than conventionally produced bagged salads.

Unbeleafable Mild Mixed Baby Leaves and Rocket and Baby Leaves (90g bags) are now available to buy in Sainsbury’s supermarkets and online for £1.50.
