‘Clock House Tavern’ on Peckham Rye, Now Open!

A Proper Pub Offering Real Ales, Irish Stouts and Community Charm

Clock House Tavern is Peckham Rye’s newest old-school pub. Located right on the park, the pub has been restored back to its finest splendour across two floors. The revival of the former ‘Clock House’ is led by Parched, an independent pub group founded by four local friends with a passion for preserving the rich pub culture of South London. Known for creating local favourites like The Montpelier, The White Horse, and most recently The Earl of Derby, Parched has brought their expertise and passion to this exciting new venture.

The Interiors

Clock House Tavern combines the classic charm of a traditional pub with a quality offering for the whole community. The restored interior features oak panelling, antique mirrors, and luxurious leather banquette seating, complete with a dart board to enjoy at any time of the day. With areas across two floors and outside, it is spacious, whilst retaining all the atmosphere of a proper local.

As well as the main bar, the pub boasts various areas and an events room. There is the  snug area with a fireplace and a back area for food and parties. The elegant upstairs bar offers stunning views of Peckham Rye Park, providing a great backdrop for social gatherings and private events, as well as the perfect spot for your Sunday Roast. Outside is a large beer garden adorned with mature wisteria, offering a picturesque escape for sunny afternoons.

The Drinks

The extensive drinks offering caters to everyone’s ‘usual’, with a focus on English cask ales, whiskeys, quality wines and hand-crafted cocktails.

Keeping things local to preserve the pub’s community charm, Clock House Tavern serves ales and beers from nearby breweries. On tap are the likes of London beer legends Gipsy Hill and Pillars Brewery. Keeping things fresh, other rotating hero beers include Harvey’s Brewery, Timothy Taylor’s and Brockley Brewery.

Alongside the beers is a refined whiskey offering from around the globe – Balvenie Single Malt Scotch, Redbreast 12 Year Irish Whiskey and Nikka From The Barrel, all the way from Japan. A carefully curated wine list brings together the best of European wine, and the select list of hand-crafted cocktails is made using the best ingredients.

The Food

Cooking up a storm in the kitchen is Gengelly’s – aka the talented chef duo George Genn and Laurence Pengelly. Gengelly’s first Parched residency in the Earl Of Derby opened to critical acclaim, and remains a firm favourite in the community. Continuing their legacy, their Clock House Tavern menu focuses on bold, unfussy and delicious dishes. Expect grilled fish and steaks, seasonal flatbreads and fresh pasta, as well as their classic Sunday Roast.

The Story

‘We are beyond excited to be opening the Clock House Tavern right in our community. The pub is in such a fantastic location, right on Peckham Rye park. It has great history and so much charm’ says co-founder Neil Watson.

Restoring London pubs to their former glory is the Parched speciality. With two decades of success, the team has brought many pubs back from the brink. Legends on the local pub scene, they show no signs of stopping. Clock House Tavern is Peckham Rye’s new favourite boozer.
