On 28th September, Islington’s Upper Street welcomes the arrival of Danish-Japanese restaurant Sticks’n’Sushi – bringing its unique combination of quality sushi and sticks from the grill to the heart of North London, for the first time.
To celebrate, get 50% off all food during its soft launch – sign up here for dates: https://sticksnsushi.com/en. Can’t wait until then? Look out for Sticks’n’Sushi pop-ups outside the Islington Business Design Centre (16th – 17th August) and at the Angel Canal Festival (1st September) to enjoy complimentary sushi and more.
A go-to name for some of the UK’s best sushi and sticks, the menu features signature dishes, such as the Black Cod house roll – miso-marinated black cod with vegetable chips & pickled red onion, alongside classic and creative sushi, sashimi, tartares and generous set menus to suit varied budgets and tastes.
If fish isn’t your thing, sticks from the grill include Ibérico Secreto – miso-cured black Iberian pig with lemon; charred chicken wings; and Wagyu Yaki – Japanese Wagyu from Kyushu. There’s also plenty of plant-based options and an array of vibrant salads and chirashi.
Sticks’n’Sushi serves up an impressive drink selection. Sip on signature cocktails like Shiso Ha, with tequila, shiso leaves, and elderflower, or Purple Rain, featuring Japanese gin, violet liqueur, and yuzu tonic. Plus, enjoy a curated list of wines, spirits, Japanese teas, and an extensive sake menu.
The interiors combine Japanese minimalism with Scandinavian elegance, whilst also reflecting the storytelling of the residential address. Made up of two single-storey buildings, they come together to create inviting dining spaces – sit near the kitchen counter to catch the chefs in action, relax in the lounge with maki and cocktails, or enjoy a spot of alfresco dining while you watch the world go by. Natural furnishings and warm, earthy tones of yellow and muted greys, create an atmosphere that is as welcoming as the service, embodying the renowned Japanese concept of ‘Omotenashi’ – to wholeheartedly look after every guest.
Islington will be the 29th restaurant in the group and follows hot on the heels of its opening earlier this year in Richmond. For all the news and developments at Sticks’n’Sushi Islington, visit https://sticksnsushi.com/en and sign up for updates.
