England Golf is thrilled to announce the launch of Get into Golf Week, a nationwide initiative aimed at highlighting how golf can be accessible, enjoyable and affordable for everyone. This exciting event will take place from August 26 to September 1, 2024, providing a perfect opportunity for individuals of all ages and backgrounds to experience the sport and its many benefits.

Get into Golf Week will showcase the fantastic facilities and experiences that golf clubs across England have to offer. Participating clubs will host special sessions throughout the week, designed to introduce newcomers to the sport in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Key highlights of Get into Golf Week include:

  • Free or discounted taster sessions at participating clubs
  • Introduction to basic golf skills
  • Information on the health and wellness benefits of golf
  • Opportunities to meet club members and learn about membership options
  • Family-friendly activities to encourage participation across generations

“We believe that golf is a sport for everyone, and ‘Get into Golf Week’ is our way of opening the doors wide and inviting people to give it a try,” said Matt Draper, Development and Membership Director at England Golf. “Whether you’re looking for a new hobby, a way to stay active, or a chance to meet new people, golf has something to offer. We’re excited to showcase the inclusive and friendly nature of our golfing community.”

Golf offers numerous health and wellness benefits, including improved cardiovascular health, increased strength and flexibility, and enhanced mental wellbeing. ‘Get into Golf Week’ aims to highlight these advantages while demonstrating that golf can be an enjoyable and social activity for people of all fitness levels.

The initiative also seeks to address common misconceptions about golf, such as it being too expensive, time-consuming, or exclusive. Participating clubs will offer information on flexible membership options, quick play formats, and the social aspects of the sport.

“Golf is evolving, and we want to show people that it’s more accessible and diverse than ever before,” added Matt Draper, Development and Membership Director at England Golf. “Get into Golf Week is about breaking down barriers and showing that golf can be played in different ways in different settings, fit into modern lifestyles, and is open to anyone that wants to give it a go.”

You can find participating clubs and book a session here.
