PKF Littlejohn  has expanded its footprint in the North West with the launch of a dedicated restructuring practice in Manchester, welcoming three highly experienced Partners to lead the new team.

The move strengthens PKF Littlejohn’s presence in the North West and reflects its continued investment in supporting UK businesses through financial stress, operational change, and strategic transformation.

Leading the new practice are three highly respected professionals, each with strong connections to the Manchester area and a wealth of experience in the restructuring and advisory space.

Paul Smith brings extensive board-level experience as a transformation leader and trusted advisor. A Fellow of the Institute for Turnaround, he has worked with a wide range of mid-market businesses to deliver solvent outcomes through operational and financial transformation. Paul has held senior strategic roles across both advisory and financial services, with a proven track record of leading successful turnaround plans and negotiating with key stakeholders including lenders, investors, and HMRC.

Stephen Clancy is a seasoned insolvency practitioner with over 30 years of appointment-taking experience. He has led a number of high-profile assignments, including the operational restructure of a major hospitality group and the wind-down of a national home improvement business. His expertise spans both formal insolvency processes and advisory-led solutions, delivering outcomes that protect value and support business continuity.

Paul Reeves joins with over 25 years’ experience in the UK restructuring sector. A Chartered Surveyor and Licensed Insolvency Practitioner, Paul is known for his commercial insight and business development expertise.

After London, Manchester is the largest city in the UK for restructuring services, making it a natural choice for the firm’s next phase of growth.

PKF Littlejohn opened its Manchester office in 2023 and has been growing it since then. The new Partner appointments are the latest step in this process, and form a key part of the firm’s ambition to build a meaningful and respected practice in the region, supporting the wider growth of the firm.

All three partners have spent their careers in the North West, giving them deep-rooted relationships and an intimate understanding of the regional business landscape. Their local insight and established networks position the team strongly to support clients navigating complex challenges.

The new Manchester advisory team will focus on supporting businesses, lenders, and investors through financial restructuring, formal insolvency processes, and strategic transformation. The expansion complements PKF Littlejohn‘s broader  service lines and builds further strength for the firm in the North West.

Commenting on the expansion, Paul Williams, Restructuring Partner at PKF Littlejohn said: “We are delighted to welcome Paul, Stephen and Paul to the team. They bring exceptional experience, local knowledge, trusted relationships, and a proven ability to deliver results for clients. This expansion is a key step in our strategic growth and enables us to offer even greater value to clients.”
