LYLE’S GOLDEN SYRUP ON-THE-GO FLAPJACKS LAUNCH IN TESCO

Lyle’s Golden Syrup, a beloved staple of British baking and breakfast tables, launched its Flapjack range earlier this year.

Now, the exciting product line is expanding to include both classic golden syrup and chocolate varieties and is launching both multipack and ready-to-eat Flapjacks in Tesco stores across the UK.

The gooey and delicious treats recently hit the shelves in Tesco in multipacks, with single, individually wrapped options following in late October.

The flapjacks have already been available via other retailers, including Ocado, where 70 per cent of shoppers have awarded the product a five-star review, with many calling out the delicious chewiness and flavour as reasons to buy again.

Both the chocolate and classic golden syrup versions of the flapjacks are a deliciously indulgent twist on the uniquely British treat and are of course made with the unmistakable richness of Lyle’s Golden Syrup.

Available now in multipacks of five, and shortly as individual 50g bars, these flapjacks offer Brits and their families the perfect balance of nostalgia, indulgence, and convenience.

The introduction of Lyle’s Golden Syrup Flapjacks marks a significant milestone in the brand’s history, as it ventures independently into the snacking category for the first time.  With a long-standing history of providing quality, valued products, Lyle’s is perfectly positioned to meet the entire family’s demand for indulgent, accessible and on-the-go treats.

Nick James, Marketing Director for Lyle’s Golden Syrup, said:

“We are thrilled to bring the rich, comforting taste of Lyle’s Golden Syrup to more shoppers with the products’ arrival in Tesco following a successful launch in other national UK retailers. We know that nothing beats the absolutely golden taste of our Lyle’s Golden Syrup, and we’re confident that these flapjacks are just as delicious as the ones made by families at home for generations.  In fact, we think they’re so delicious we’re already developing other flavours that we plan to launch in 2025, underpinned by the great taste promise of Lyle’s Golden Syrup.”

Lyle’s Golden Syrup Flapjack Multipacks (five x 30g) and Chocolate Flapjack Multipacks (five x 30g) will be available in over 1,000 Tesco stores and 600 Tesco stores respectively from 3rd September 2024. And the single original Flapjack (50g) and single Chocolate Flapjack(50g) will be available in over 900 Tesco stores from late October 2024.

About Lyle’s Golden Syrup:

Lyle’s Golden Syrup™ has been a staple of many family and professional kitchens since its first production in 1883. The unmistakable rich golden colour complements its indulgent flavour of buttery and caramel notes. It has proved a delicious and time-honored addition to many breakfasts’ foods such as pancakes, porridge and toast while it features in many classic and simple baking recipes including flapjacks, rocky road and sponge puddings. Made with just one ingredient, the exact process remains a closely guarded secret at the Lyle’s Golden Syrup historic home near the River Thames in East London. Particularly well known for the iconic green tin which holds a Guinness World Record for the longest unchanged branding, it is also available in fully recyclable bottle formats.
